The Fair Work Commission has increased the minimum wage

The Fair Work Commission handed down its annual wage review decision on 3 June 2025.

The Commission has decided to increase the National Minimum Wage and minimum wages in all modern awards by 3.5% . These increases will take effect from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2025.

The National Minimum Wage will be $24.10 per hour, which is $915.90 per week for a full time employee. Other awards will increase by at least the same amount, or possibly more.

This means all businesses need to review the wages and entitlements of their staff (full time, part time or otherwise) and act NOW to ensure they remain compliant.

Businesses need to be ready to implement these conditions on 1 July 2025 at the latest. Those who are not ready face stiff penalties and potentially negative attention from a media on the hunt for someone (fairly or not) to use as an example.

This doesn’t have to happen to your business, so long as you act fast.
